Alwyn Green
Alwyn Green was born and educated in Norwich. His parents are both musicians. He studied for his music degree on trombone and euphonium with Denis Wick at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where he won the brass prize in his second year.
In 1971 he moved directly from college to the Bass Trombone position in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. During his career, he has played bass trombone and euphonium with most of the major British Orchestras, most recently with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra where he is still employed.
He was a founder member of both the Palm Court Theatre Orchestra and the Prince of Wales Brass. He is musical Director of Brassworks and teaches bass trombone at Birmingham Conservatoire and Birmingham University.
As a composer and arranger he has had a number of works published, many of them also broadcast or recorded. He arranged the music for Eric Morecambe's last film "The Passionate Pilgrim" which also starred Tom Baker and Madeline Smith.
